The health and integrity of the intestinal environment is key to increase profitability. Logically speaking, a well performing intestinal tract maximizes production output. Glycerides of specifically butyric acid have a positive effect on intestinal development. These glycerides stimulate intestinal health by supporting tight junction formation, preventing intrusion of pathogens.
Additionally, glycerides of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) positively affect microbiota composition. Whereas Antibiotic Growth Promotors completely destroy the intestinal microbiome, glycerides are surprisingly selective. Research has shown that glycerides of butyric acid improve microbiota diversity of all livestock animals, increase the diversity and concentration of Bifidobacterium, and show an improved Lactobacilli/E.coli ratio.
FRA® Butyrin Ultra supports animal performance by improving intestinal integrity.
Short-chain fatty acids improve intestinal health and FCR. Butyric acid focuses on intestinal development and gut health. The short-chain fatty acid is an energy source, but more importantly it has antibacterial properties and is therefore applied to young animals. As tributyrin consists of three molecules of butyric acid, it is highly concentrated in butyric acid. Tributyrin does not require coating to reach the small intestine which contributes to the high butyric acid content in FRA® Butyrin Ultra.
The health and integrity of your livestock’s intestinal environment is key to increase performance. To achieve efficacy in the entire intestinal tract of the animal, binding butyric acid to glycerol proves to be a good solution. Research has shown outstanding results of glycerides on gut morphology and the microbiome. FRA® Butyrin Ultra optimizes the intestinal environment and consequently improves animal performance.
