Context and challenges of the position

As Research & Innovation (R&I) Nutrition and Health monogastrics (around 45 people), we develop and support products and concepts for the animal nutrition and health industry. To support this ambition, Adisseo recently opened a brand-new dedicated building to gather all its research domains. Such work revolves around scientific, creative, and international teams.

As part of the innovation team your experience in various methodologies will be key for the development of new sustainable solutions for animal nutrition and health.

 

Reporting to the Head of R&I Nutrition and Health monogastrics, the in-vitro laboratory manager interacts transversally with research managers to propose existing and innovative in-vitro models to address R&I needs. He/she will manage the team of technicians. He/she is attentive to the developments in his field of activity and those related to nutrition and animal health. He/she will actively participate in the strategic R&I orientations with other managers of the Nutrition and Health monogastric team.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to

• Propose and discuss strategy research orientations with the management team
• Ensure scientific watch and competitive intelligence on in-vitro tools, mimicking nutrition & animal health
• Develop methods to propose alternatives ways of experimentation (reduction of animal experimentation, improve efficiency)
• Manage the team of technicians and ensure team development
• Define the needs in term of in-vitro studies with the research team
• Organize the schedule, the set-up and the implementation of laboratory activities
• Interpret results to enable relevant reporting and valorization of the studies
• Ensure that the QHSE approach is applied in all actions carried out in the in-vitro laboratory (ISO9001, 14001 and 45001)
• Interact with other R&I entities to maximize synergies (innovation and support)
• Manage its allocated budget
• Ensure the communication internally (R&I, Business…) and externally (customers, conferences)

Main Skills

• Engineer, Master or PhD in life science
• Fluent English and French

• Knowledge in intestinal in-vitro models (Infogest, TIM, microbiota simulation, intestinal cellular models, organoids…) would be a plus
• Experience in lab management is essential – 3 to 4 yr minimum in academia or industry is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of animal/human nutrition and/or health is necessary
• Experience in team management would be a plus

 

• Good communication and networking skills, team spirit and creativity
• Reliable

Location: This position will be located in France (Lyon)

Traveling (mainly France):  up to 20%
