How to extract more values from Precise Nutrition Evaluation (PNE), Adisseo’s global NIR service platform, and how to utilise MyPNE as a decision-making tool to evaluate, purchase and formulate feed ingredients?
Raw material variation, quality and cost are the key issues that concern feed millers. Nowadays, although Near Infra-red Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) technology has been widely established in the feed industry, how to efficiently make use of massive NIR data and in turn to guide purchasing and formulation decisions, is still a topic to study and improve.
A lot of factors will affect nutrients availabilities to animals, such as growing conditions, grain hybrids, storage conditions, starch digestibility, anti-nutritional factors and crush processes, etc. Therefore, it is essential to switch feed formulation basis from total amino acids (TAA) to digestible amino acids (DAA) in combinations of apparent metabolisable energy (AME) and ideally balanced protein, where accurately assessing DAA and AME variations in feed ingredients from different origins and processes is the key.
Conventional methods include reference tables published by different organisations, equations from proximate parameters, in-vitro studies and in-vivo animal trials.
